BancorpSouth and ATT Mobile Launch Mobile Banking
BancorpSouth, a chain of banks located in the southeastern US, now has a mobile banking service that allow AT&T Wireless customers with certain phones (the Motorola V3 Razr, V551, V557, L7 SLVR, or LG CU500) to check balances, transfer funds and pay bills through their phones, all through an SSL connection. A quote on ArkansasBusiness from the CEO makes BancorpSouth sound a bit like Internet mavericks from the first days of online banking in the 1990s, so it's probably not surprising they're one of the first banks in the US to go with this service. However, given the service and phone limitations, I wonder how a number of people are going to be able to sign up?
