A Smartphone You Can't Refuse
Nokia has just released the perfect smartphone for mafia-buffs: an N73 inspired by
The Godfather, to celebrate the film's 35th anniversary. Nothing's different here, save for a cool looking box: and a bundled 256MB miniSD memory card, which stores a copy of the 175 minute movie. These "special edition" features will probably attract only die-hard fans of the movie, especially if it's more expensive that its plain vanilla counterpart. Unless Nokia makes the general public makes an offer they really can't refuse.
Perhaps this the first of many movie-themed editions Nokia will release, since the Godfather N73's snazzy website asks the question "Which movie would you prefer to watch on your Nseries device next?"

Investment Banks Applaud Apple's Delay
In the wake of Apple's announcement yesterday that Leopard, the next version of OSX, will come out in October instead of June because of developmental delays associated with the iPhone, the investment banks who rate Apple's stock made an announcement of their own: they support the wait. Although the obvious reason for this surprising support in the face of the delay decision is the perceived future success of the iPhone, rumor also has it that the delay is not because of development team shifts, but because Apple is planning to build full support for Vista into the Leopard version of Boot Camp, fundamentally strengthening Apple's market position. If this rumor is true, we could have a very interesting autumn battle shaping up in the computer world.

Giving Your HTC P3600 GPS
Here's some greaHTC P3600 owa recently posted update, they can activate their PDA phone'GPS receiver. With the help of two dozen satellites orbiting the earth, and with the proper software, users will be able to know where they are within 50 feet.
Without wondering why HTC would release a gadget without enabling all (or at least the most useful) features, a demo version of TomTom's NAVIGATOR 6 is also available to test the newly-enabled feature. The GPS navigator application comes with one free map, so users who take advantage of this freebie will be able to find their way around their home city.
The update also features other improvements, such as enhancements to Bluetooth and the web browser, and "new data network icons to differentiate between GPRS, EDHSDPA connections."
CoolSmartPhone for the heads-up.

LG SV280 Banana Phone
Slider and clamshell phones have now combined gloriously with the LG SV280, a phone that has the ability to slide into an ergonomic banana shape. I have no idea if LG is using a banana as a moniker of this device, but if the shoe fits....
Features on this LG SV280 Banana Phone include a 1.3 Megapixel camera, QVGA screen, an MP3 player, and flashing sidebars for message notification.
So far, no word on price of availability of the LG SV280. Personally, if the LG SV280 really wants to emulate a banana, it really needs to do a better job. How many flat bananas have you ever seen?

Alcatel OT-C825a Media Phone
The OT-C825a is Alcatel’s higher-end media phone that was on display at the CTIA Wireless show this year. Like the Elle 3 model that it shares most all of its specs with, the OT-C825a is a tri-band GSM device that supports the 850 and 1900MHz bands used in North America as well as the 1800MHz band used elsewhere in the world.

The iPhone's Built-in Wi-Fi: A Deal Closer?
(
Jimmie Geddes, editor of Gadgets on the Goimage source that highlights the Apple iPhone's built-in Wi-Fi as the deal cimage source:
I plan on getting an iPhone for this reason alone, not skype, but WiFi. I'll get it from Cingular, get it unlocked so I can pop in my T-Mobile SIM card. I know many people are going to do the same thing I am panning on, we don't want to switch to Cingular, but we'll buy it from them outright and get it unlocked. $600 is a lot of money for a smartphone, but this smartphone runs OS X, has Safari, 8GB of memory, oh and also it's a touchscreen iPod. What's not to love?
Personally, I'd get an iPhone because when it comes to gadgets, nothing beats Apple's attention to the user experience. The iPod and OS X are hardly perfect, but they're great because they're designed with layman users in mind. Even if I sometimes feel that I'm not able to maximize the hardware, that's ok, because Apple design makes everything easier for me.
In other words, if Apple reaches its iPhone sales target of 10 million units, it'll be because it appeals to the "masses," not to consummate geeks who drool over specs, benchmarks, and the like. They only care about whether everything works seamlessly, and not the specs. And let's not foimage source.

BluEye Connects Phones and iPods Via Bluetooth
Here's a cool idea for coordinating between iPod and cell GEAR4 BluEye, a device that looks like the iPod remote but includes a Bluetooth receiver and connects to your iPod via the docking interface, limiting it to dock-enabled iPods. If you get a call while listening to music, the BluEye pauses the iPod and allows you to take the call through a microphone built in to the BluEye. Once you're done, the music starts up again. The BluEye also allows you to redial your last nine calls, use voice activation on supported phones and includes an FM tuner as a random extra bonus. The device includes a clip, so you can attach it high enough up on your shirt for the microphone to be effective.
I imagine GEAR4 designed this device with walking around in mind, but I could see it being very practical for use in the car - taking your eyes off the road is never a good thing and doing it to first turn off an iPod and then answer a phone can be quite dangerous. Assuming you could plug the BluEye into your car's stereo system (and I don't see any reason why you couldn't with the right equipment), answering the phone would be as simple as saying, "hello."

Screen Protector
It's impossible to over-stress how important a screen protector is for your smartphone or PDA. You'll be spending a lot of time looking at your gadget's screen, and if it gets so scratched that you can barely make things out, your mobile or handheld is practically useless. It's not a matter of if, but when your display will suffer gashes. Especially if your device features touch-sensitive controls.
No, screen protectors aren't scratch-proof. In fact, they're designed to take the punishment, because it's a lot cheaper to replace a screen protector than having to replace the transparent plastic that usually sits on top of the display component itself. This usually means changing the entire casing. And things can get a bit complicated if you're gadget isn't designed for easy housing replacement.
In short, screen protectors are an important mobile tool because they can save you a lot of expense (and heartache). Scratching a thin film is definitely a lot more bearable than damaging your smartphone or PDA's actual screen. So before opening the packaging of your new toy, make sure you have a screen protector at hand to immediately apply.
Get a screen protector for free: If there's see-through plastic already attached to your new gadget's display when you take it out of the box, you can leave it on. Just make sure to cut off any of those protruding tabs meant to facilitate peeling off.
