Mobile Phones and Nickel Allergy
© Daveybot
Remember nickel allergy? It is an allergy to metals (most metals have nickel!) wherein direct skin contact can lead to itching and rashes.
Mobile phones can be a cause of nickel allergy too.
According to Slash Gear:
If you've ever felt a bit itchy after messing with your cellphone or iPod for a while, you might have to face facts that you're a bit allergic to technology. I have a slight nickel allergy, but luckily my ears and hands can handle it. Whereas my neck and wrists will break out in a rash over almost nothing. Well apparently those with a nickel allergy are the ones that need to worry.
There is cause for worry but this is something that can easily be resolved. Like opting for a a model of mobile phone that has outer rubber or some kind of plastic coated to the metal house.
Like I do. Yes, I have nickel allergy too! ;-)
And if you really cannot resist the mobile phone with a metal finish, then you can easily buy the so called cellphone condoms that are all abound these days. Yes, the cellphone condom is a like an extra, thin, rubber housing that you cover the body of your cellphone with. That way direct skin contact of the metal will be prevented. Unless of course you have rubber allergy! But then, that is another story.

Keep your RIM Blackberry healthy and happy
Your Blackberry device is just like your PC and behaves exactly like it. Storing more and more data on your device can reduce its performance and slow it up considerably. Here is a list of things that you can do to keep your Blackberry device up and running at optimum health.
1. Delete all Unnecessary Applications: You might have installed more applications than you actually need on your Blackberry device. Your Blackberry would run faster and perform better if you keep only those applications that you actually use.
2. Delete all Unimportant text and email messages: Having old and unimportant text and email messages on your device can consume too much space and memory. Therefore it is good idea to delete such messages from your device.
3. Make use of Content Compression to free up space and memory: Your Blackberry comes with a feature called "Content Compression". You can use it to compress all your Blackberry data including messages, contacts, calendar entries, tasks, and memos and free up memory.

Samsung and AT&T Unite with Access
It is very fitting that Samsung has called their newest phone the Access. Since this is Samsung's first foray into AT&T territory, the phone gives special access to a lot of things not seen on other Samsung phones.
For example, an Access user has full access to AT&T mobile TV, Video Share, and Mobile Music. The phone also has other great features, such as Bluetooth, microSD slot, as well as a 1.3 Megapixel camera with video.
So far, there is no word on the price, but the Access is planned to be released sometime in May.

Nokia Morph
The Nokia Phone is one hot gadget. It uses Nano technology to self-clean its surface and can be charged with solar energy. It also has integrated sensors, not to mention quite the cool headset feature as well. This phone, recently featured at the MOMA in New York, can be bent and stretched into many shapes by the user. You could fold it to fit in your pocket, and then stretch it out when using it to view smaller details. Frankly, the idea's quite hard for me to grasp, since it's quite otherworldy indeed! Time for a trip to the Museum of Modern Art, and fast.
Check out the Nokia Morph here.

For the rugged individual, there''s the multi-purpose Courier which is made of compression-molded EVA outer jacket for abrasion-resistant durability and can either wrap around the strap of your backpack or bag (up to 4 inches wide), or be secured by a industrial-strength hook & loop closure (see photo above). With a hidden zipper pocket for key, money, ID, and a second flapped pocket for sync cable, earphones, or whatever you need, this utiilty case is all you need to carry. 34.99 at Griffin.; now $24.01 at Amazon.
My iPhone had been envious of my iPod''s stylish Reflect case, but is now sporting its own. Pink BlackBerry Pearl 8130
The ad for the new BlackBerry Pearl asks "Are you confident enough to wear pink?" Funny, that''s how I''ve always felt about my pink-hued gadgets - I don''t need to have industrial looking (read: black) technology to be taken seriously. I want functionality and style, thank you very much.
I decorated my first BlackBerry with jewel-like rhinestones, and you can be sure no one in the AOL meetings accidentally picked mine up. Much later I graduated to the Curve, a wonderful machine, that I kept holstered in a classic pink leather holder.
But it wasn''t until the introduction of the Pearl, its smaller size and "lifestyle" features like television, music players, cameras and Facebook social-networking software that the BlackBerry appealed to a broader audience. Up to this point, my daughter Mackenzie had turned up her nose at my BlackBerry, which didn''t pass the most important test for a teenager, which seems to be the ability to put a gadget in the pocket of their jeans. When she saw my spiffy review unit of the Pearl, she had to have it.
Now they''ve improved on the basic model with the 8130, which is a lovely metallic blush, and features an improved camera (2.0 megapixels), video capabilities, full email and web browsing, a music player (player reads MP3, WMA, and AAC files and displays album art), Bluetooth, AND an expandable memory (up to 8GB.) Like it''s predecessor, it features SureType QWERTY keyboard technology - which you either love or hate. (My daughter is a wiz at typing on it, so there you go.).

Malware Attacks Nokia Handsets
A new worm targeting the Symbian OS has launched an attacks on cell phone networks. The worm, called SymbOS/Beselo.A!worm, is able to run on Symbian S60 enabled phones. This includes Nokia 6600, 6630, 6680, 7610, N70 and N72 handsets. The worm is disguised as an MMS message with a name like Sex.mp3 or Beauty.jpg, Such names tempt users into downloading the malicious file. Once installed, it harvests all the phone numbers in the phones contact list and sends them an MMS with the worm. It also sends itself to several generated numbers as well-all located in China and from the same cellular service provider.
Gulliaum Lovet, manager of Fortinet's Threat Response Team, found the worm and told Techworld:
"It is actual spreading in the wild," said Lovet, "although numbers are still pretty low." He confirmed that the worm only affects Symbian S60 enabled devices. When you want to seed or inject worm in the wild, then you may want to seed in high populated areas," he continued. "The Chinese mobile operator concerned is the largest in the world with 300 million users, so maybe the virus writers thought it would be a good idea to go for mobiles in highly populated areas."
Cell phone malware is still relatively rare, but appears to be increasing.
